Fear (reality based/emotionally based)

I remember a time in my life where I was utterly spiritually bankrupt and full of fear. I never felt more alone in my life. I don't think its a coincidence I felt fear and loneliness at the same time as I believe emotional fear comes from loneliness. Let me define that by saying even with many people around we can feel alone if we are not connected or a part of something bigger than just ourselves. When I got sober through the 12 steps I remember the feeling of relief when I got to the second step "came to believe in a power greater than myself". That meant I wasn't alone, not ever. At first the groups I went to were that power and slowly but surely I found the God of my understanding. Sometimes I heard his/her voice through others and eventually within myself. I these times where I am connected, my fears seem to melt away. Please don't misunderstand that life on lifes terms didn't necessarily change, however my perception did. That is the basis of emotional fear, that which dissolves by a perceptual shift. Reality based fear doesn't change because I see it differently. If I am standing in the middle of a highway with a mac truck coming at me I am grateful for the fear for it is very real. Changing the way I see the truck isn't going to change the danger of being hit by it. If I burn my hand on a stove the fear is very real and serves me well to remember to not do it again. Emotional fear is where I give something or someone permission to have power over me in someway. It is a choice, one that I can change many times over. Today in many cases I choose to turn that fear over to God and to have faith that in my surrender I will know peace. That doesn't mean I lie down and die or become a door mat, rather I pause, meditate, and pray to see the bigger picture and be guided to a healthy solution. My experience has shown me that in anger, fear, or reaction the end result is never a happy one, and neither am I. These principles are applied in all my affairs when I am spiritually connected. The work place is no exception. When either myself or an employee sees something from a place of loneliness or fear we work toward being present for each other and taking the time to act rather than react. To go to the core of the fear instead of focusing on the effects that have been caused by the fear. We have had amazing results and a powerful bond has been forged throughout the salon. Each time we work through such an event we grow closer like any other relationship. Because at the end of the day its all about cultivation of relationship to ourselves, others, and The God of our understanding. To me all three relationships are really the same thing.

Beyond every challenge there is potenial growth. Embrace the lessons by letting go of resistence. Surrender to the universe is not weakness but pure power. Give it a shot!

Today begins and new opportunity is in the air. Will I spend my day in my head or will I live in the moment? I am a creator of joy and pain, which do I choose at any given moment? The future depends on the choices made now! LOVE AND LIGHT TO YOU ALL
